I SHALL NOT BE ASHAMED

Romans 10:11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

This devotional is inspired by 2 songs:

I Shall Not Be Ashamed, my LORD
Remember Your covenant with me
I Shall Not Be Ashamed, my LORD

To be ashamed is to suffer humiliation; is to make someone to become distressed, to be positioned in a situation where one loses one’s voice an honour; where chances are given to the mockers to have the upper voice over one’s life, it is feeling of loss of face, it is to be made downcast. To be ashamed is not a good state or feeling, it rubs one of full joy and pleasure of one’s dignity. Looking through the scripture we see that God has made that provision that we should not suffer shame according to His promises. Whosoever believes in Him shall not be ashamed. This is the covenant God established for His children. It is this same format that leads you to salvation when you believed God. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved (Romans 10:13). As many that come to God, He gives power to become sons of God. As children of God, He does not want His children to be put to shame.

God knows the agenda of the enemy. God knows the mind of the enemy and their wickedness; He knows the enemy desires more than often to put children of God to shame. Whenever and wherever the enemy sees any child of God is doing exploits, promoting God and professing and expressing the Lord Jesus with their life, the enemy will do everything possible to diabolically desire a child of God to suffer shame. Samson so much disgraced and humiliated the Philistine that they did everything needed and possible to see the end of Samson. When they captured Samson through Delilah’s help, they removed his eyes, made him grind wheat and made him stand bound to two posts in a gallery for public display.

The promises of God are Yes and Amen. His words never fail and God never lies. There are plenty of assurances of God to take His children out of shame. Isaiah 54: 4…Fear not; for thou shalt not be ashamed: neither be thou confounded; for thou shalt not be put to shame: for thou shalt forget the shame of thy youth, and shalt not remember the reproach of thy widowhood any more. Isaiah 45:17… But Israel [I] shall be saved in the Lord with an everlasting salvation: ye shall not be ashamed nor confounded world without end. Isaiah 49:23…And kings shall be thy nursing fathers, and their queens thy nursing mothers: they shall bow down to thee with their face toward the earth, and lick up the dust of thy feet; and thou shalt know that I am the Lord: for they shall not be ashamed that wait for me. Psalm 25:3 reveals how God distinguishes between His children and the wicked.
